Description

This is a brand spanking new app for Lerin, used for references as well as some new duds after Souls of Chaos-the other outfit was cool don't get me wrong but want this character to be more out of bounds with Zion and souls of chaos so hence the new clothes. He's pretty much the same except with a lot of tweaks and facts since he's gone through some character development >u< Thanks to some awesome people, you all know who you are.

I'm happy with it =u= that's all that should matter, anyhoo, prepare for some reading.

Strengths: Lying when it counts, Heavy hitting, Heavy lifting, Heavy sleeping, Heavy drinking, Survival, Looking out for the little guys

Personality: Disorienting. Lerin puts on the impression that he's the biggest jerk on the face of the planet, unfortunately he's used that 'bad boy' front so much that it's become his personality now. He is like anyone else with their own baggage except he's buried any self-pity or regards for anyone so much that he simply just doesn't care. Lerin has the habit of as soon as something nice is said about him, he'll just come up and ruin it by doing the opposite; he also hates the word 'civil' like his current demeanor isn't good enough to be neutral since he hasn't done anything 'terrible' in his mind-it's a habit he has yet to break.

There is a darker part of him that he doesn't let anyone catch on to, being that he'd been this 'monster' only because it's what everyone would expect of him and so in turn he'd put on a show. To anyone who manages to get past his disgusting demeanor and his attempts to try and push people away, he is rather childish. Not only for his sense of pranks and doing things without afterthoughts of the consequences and hints of possessive jealousy; Lerin acts the way he is because he doesn't want anyone to give him hope. Hope that he could be something more than what he is because he'll start to care for them; in the past he had few who gave him hope and each time they betrayed him or left him spiteful and bitter.

Despite that trust issue, he's more or less a great party-goer; having a joy for alcohol, brothels and pranks, anywhere with a crowd because he could have a good time and there is no trust included because he just assumes everyone is lying. Though if left alone with his thoughts he does sigh a lot, not even he really knows why. Often times when he's not sighing, he'll be dragging other people with him to join him in his shenanigans if he thinks they can take a joke or he just wants to embarrass them.

Likes: Pranks, strong alcohol, women, trees, lakes, rivers, tunics, anything red, weapons, bags for stealing, belts, hair pins, fluffy tails (On the DL), Sparring, fights, chaos, beating someone, laughing

Dislikes: Cages, heights, birds, ghosts, undead in general, wearing underwear, wings, eels, flowers, pollen, weak drinks, being woken up, high pitch violins, arenas, elves, people, chains to a degree, bad odors, things taller than him, his own stupidity sometimes

Lineage: Naga and Ashnadile (Snake and Crocodile). There are some traits from both that offer him advantages and disadvantages. He is most familiar with his Naga traits being raised among them for a short time during childhood. His Naga traits give him the ability shift from naga to a human disguise in which he has human legs and his hair turns black. He can also change genders (though rarely does); using it mostly to get free meals or luring people into alleys before devouring them. The Naga traits also grants him the ability to conjure ice but only with what's in the air, (enough to create his weapons) if he wants to create anything that requires more moisture in the air, he'll suffer consequences.

For his other genetics he doesn't know a lot of their origins or what they are capable of but has given him a lot more advantages that he often uses. Allowing him brute strength to lift and fight things twice his own size (4x his size in human), offers him a stronger build; there is a trait with the Ashnadile that when threatened they have part of their features stick up-for Lerin the underbelly of his tail hardens. Where a naga's tail is very sensitive, his is rather durable and is incapable of fainting if his tail is attacked. Feature wise, there are scales littered all over his body, mostly on his arms, face and back, partially on his shoulders and little on his chest and stomach. His eyes are also a little slanted to the side giving a bit of an exotic look with a yellowish tint to them, the main difference from nagas is instead of fangs and only able to drink blood, Lerin's got rows of sharp teeth and can eat just about anything.

Lerin's true potential lies when he's surrounded by water, for example lakes, part of the Ashnadile genetics that specializes in water, he can uses a large amount of it at his disposal to create a fog, waves of ice spikes, water whips and an 'ultimate' ability is creating 12 ice swords and using them once in a great attack or separately to make many blows. He has yet to tap into that capability or realize it even. More useful or useless traits in the notes.

History: Forced onto his mother, Lerin was actually intentional to his father Lunus, who wanted to create a hybrid of both Naga and Ashnadile to have a 'superior soldier' when times were hard in the Wastelands. His mother Kimilie, managed to escape where she was being held with the help of one of Lerin's half-brothers; she didn't want the unborn child to have his life already decided for him. She planned on keeping him in the hopes of him growing up to run his own life than what was expected of him. She was found by her village again though many were weary of what she would give birth to in the fear that Lunus would come for him. It wasn't until Lerin turned 3 when the Ashnadile invaded his home. While others evacuated, Lerin wasn't allowed to go with them because many thought it was his fault that Lunus was attacking, he was taken up by his older sister to look for another way out. With their mother's last breath, she created a raft for her two children to climb on and send them down the river where everyone else was going, the attackers taking their mother away. Lerin's sister had since then raised him like she was taught and as they both holed up in a large dying tree nearthe Capitol, she taught him everything about his Naga traits, never mentioning his other genetics.

Lerin and Oula looked out for one another, wandering from town to town until he was 9, using his sister's magic and Lerin's slight of hand to get by. In order to hide from Lunus and even hunters, tunnels were built that only Lerin's sister knew the way to. There were instances where Lerin would blow their cover since they had to remain in human disguise to avoid detection, he bit the fingers off a vendor after being caught stealing. Since then they had to be even more careful for the consequences now that Hunters were after them. Wanting to have just one day for Lerin to play with kids his own age, there was a festival nearby that they snuck into and while they enjoyed themselves for majority of the time, hunters were onto them and had blocked out their escape. Oula only made room for Lerin to escape telling him to run; it was all he could do and even now he still thought he was being a coward even if was what his sister wanted. Left with no way of getting home or shelter, Lerin had hid himself in a garden where he was found by an elf, he offered Lerin to stay with him and it took weeks until Lerin was trusting enough to go with him.

The elf had learned from Lerin and vies versa, offering to help Lerin learn more about his magic. Slowly, Lerin felt safe. Shortly after he'd learned anything to survive was when people came to the elf, bandits it looked like, Lerin went to protect the elf but instead tables were turned when he said the naga was ready to be taken. Lerin couldn't escape his binds as he was sold to the arena by the elf, where he was branded, mistreated and placed in a cage. It was in the arena that he had to learn to fight, killed his first being and even resorted to cannibalism of another cellmate after bring brought to near starvation. His owner though unknown to Lerin, was in fact his own father, who had claimed Lerin as soon as he found him, not wanting to bring the naga home until he 'caught up with training'. The same half-brother that helped Lerin's mother escape, Kagun, had been a faceless mentor for Lerin, visiting him after fights and offering encouragement even though Lerin couldn't see his face. The terrible routine built itself until he was 13, already one of the toughest competitors and had slowly gotten use to the fact that death was just another form of survival for his opponent who would be too weak to be in his place. In his stay, he was part of a group of inmates who had plotted in getting out of the arena, though when it was put into action, the group left him after a fire started and it was everyone for themselves. Having fled to a nearby town, he was found by another elf, a woman in silver armor who was one of the few to search the rubble for survivors. She took Lerin in with some reluctance on his part but he was soon shown kindness and humility as she tried getting him accustomed to civilization again, it took until he was 15 to where he'd appreciated his place. He was her 'pet' as her guests say, though he wanted to think of her like a mother, she offered him safety...or so he felt.

She was a monster hunter and though she intended on keeping Lerin as a pet, he stumbled upon her trophy room that she told him never to enter; tails, heads, bones, pelts of all sorts of animals and monsters was enough to convince him to escape. When his caretaker made attempts to stop him he reacted violently after realizing this was in fact the second time someone he's trusted tried to betray him, in their struggle he ended up strangling her. Servants and bystanders saw the act, Lerin ran, accidentally falling into a hole that turned out to be a tunnel. His home in reach, he didn't look back until he found his way to the base of the tunnels which had become a dying hole for creatures. Being left alone to his thoughts, Lerin didn't stand a chance as he was being pulled back and forth in wanting to be civil or to just give up. There were several attempts of pulling out his teeth hoping it'd grow out normally, not understanding what it was that made him so threatening. The more he battled with the thought with no answer, he needed food; having spent days in the tree he left to look for a town, since then he would hide in a human form and covering the back of his neck. The nearest town he stayed at was the closest to comforting that he'd felt in a long time, it was well deserted and people offered him food and shelter after doing some labor. There was just one problem.

Not really getting himself involved with the people and keeping to himself, there were few that tried to get him to be more open, one of which the miller's daughter; as adolescents, she tried even if she got shot down to get him to loosen up a little; when she actually snapped at him for being so stoic all the time, was when he started his pranking again with her joining him. He had only planned on staying in the town for a few days but it turned into weeks that he started to grow a fondness towards her-she was a lot different than most humans. Because of his appearance and influence, her parents disapproved of him despite the fact that he hadn't done anything too major than annoying neighbors with pranks. Taking it in the wrong way, Lerin started noticing how the others were in fact scared of him too, for what? He had only told the miller's daughter about the Arena so she only knew what he was capable of while the others expected him to be such a threat on what his is, that he still wasn't sure of. One day he confronted the Miller's daughter to try and get her to believe him, he wasn't a monster though his reasoning led to violence when she wouldn't listen and took her parent's faulty words over his own. He killed her though when he had calmed down, his hands were stained with her blood-her parent's quickly entering her room to see him. Lerin blamed them for making him do this, she wouldn't have been in this if they had just believed him, but they so desperately wanted a monster that he would show them just how dangerous he can be. Within the evening, carrying on till morning, he'd slain the whole town, he didn't want to kill all these people but each time felt...easier.

For years he'd been numbing himself to the death he's caused, each out of spite or the fact that they made him lash out, they made him this way only because at first sight, all they see is a monster, so he figured, he'd give them what they want. What was expected of him from now on. He forced himself to not feel bad, to find this as a good thing, one less idiot in the world. As a coping to the deaths by his hands, he indulged more in alcoholic drinks like he would in the arena and had created a mask of a wide-smile to dull the feeling of regret over the killings that were just people coming in at the wrong time. He'd grown a special hatred towards elves, and as such when he spotted them at any time he'd send them running, it wasn't until he neared his current age (23) that there was finally a change in his life. In one of his attempts of scaring a mother and daughter, the elf cast a paralyzing magic to keep her daughter safe and left him on the road to get run over. From then he was placed in a prison where he'd easily escaped from and in attempt to hide, fell into the garden of a wealthy elven family where he met Alwin; a persistent elf who was too delicate to be around Lerin. She helped to keep him hidden, fed him and treat his wounds, and over a time both became acquainted. He really liked Alwin but had kept a distance and had always tried telling her to stay away from him. In attempt to keep her safe, he lashed out at her when hunters were after him and he didn't want her to get hurt. Ironically in the end, she was left for the hunters to help as he escaped, she was better off staying away from him, yet she always manages to find a way to follow him and help. As the days start blurring together, Lerin felt given up, or just bored. Lying next to the river bank waiting for something to happen...until he notice a soldier heading his way, not too convinced by this character it wasn't until hunters found him again that Lerin joined the army to hide, only to realized it was the most stressful thing he'd ever go through. In the end, though for that short time, it was something he was looking for his whole life.

RP Notes:

-Lerin is a man child, but he does have moments of maturity and is actually rather kind towards his friends or people he cares about, it often results in dirty humor and name calling.

-Since Lerin has been one to sleep around, it's really hard to telling intimately if he means what he feels or not. One sure way is touching foreheads with his partner and looking content. He is also hetero-flexible: usually straight though often branches out especially when he's hammered. (Most cases he wouldn't even know it)

-Lerin snores though there is a way to bring it to a minimum, close his mouth and rub his neck will make him sound like a motor. Still loud but at least he won't drool on people.

-He's big talk mostly though will snap at people or get irritated when bested at something, he's a bit of a sore loser.

-Lerin would treat anyone the same way despite gender, he himself can change genders and so would assume besides obvious physical appearances, everyone is pretty much the same. Ironically, he gets his ass handed to him by females, his usual defense, he was distracted or sun was in his eyes. He also found out from some old hag that he would get killed by a Swedish lady, so it could also be that.

-Has a habit of slouching only because he rarely meets people taller than him that he has to look up or from his rather sluggish attitude when nothing exciting is happening.

-Lerin keeps the brand mark behind his neck covered, not wanting this be be leverage to his paranoia that anyone in the Arena would still be alive. One would be considered someone he trusted and care for to show them.

-Lerin is looking for the same elf that sold him to the Arena, on his down time of course, to make karma his bitch when he finds the elf and kill him for leading him on before selling him. He had feeling the man's still out there.

-He can whistle, if not for catcalling, he rarely whistles a tune or if he hears something he likes, he'd try to mimic it in a whistle.

-He knows how to belly dance from staying as a 'pet' in a way to entertain guests; he's used this talent for other things such as distraction or tip money.

-Illiterate at first but thanks to a friend of his, has the reading capacity of a 4 year old. He's really proud of it. He is also picking up learning Naga-his native language, only reason he stopped learning was due to the belief that speaking common more would help his survival.

-Having some naga traits, he still has a forked tongue, though it serves as a useless genetic, while nagas can sense heat or cold with it, Lerin cannot. The only perk he sees to this is that is the reason he can eat just about anything, more room in his mouth.

-Though he's a naga, he isn't overly flexible due to his other genetics, he can swim in water quicker and hold his breath for longer than them though.

-His family consist of 3 sisters on his mother's side and 7 brothers on his other genetics.

-Lerin has a PTSD for chaos, meaning that with the war over and peace ruling, he'd sometimes have this urge to go out looking for trouble, someone to fight, get hit, kill, smell blood. It might also be contributed to the fact that it was a good part of his childhood to be constantly in battle, he wouldn't know what to do with himself otherwise.

-He has a last minute move that exerts his magic capability a bit, creating spikes to perk out of his back like a hedgehog, though as a results leaves him weak and with a bloody nose.

-Under severe stress of battle and it's a last resort or he's close to death, Lerin has a diehard moment, meaning that he'd kill anything and everything, ally or not until the thing that tries to kill him is dead or if he's been too surrounded. His eyes roll up in his head and he has no control of his magic until he loses conscious or if he survived the attack is left drained and vulnerable.

-For the sake of healers or people who can go into others minds. Lerin has a soulroom like everyone else where there true self is revealed, instead of one, Lerin has two mentalities (But they are just one soul) One who is rather ill-nourished and sad, what is left of his hope of becoming accepted and one that is more angered and lashes out-the one that's pretty much accepted that there was no other way but being a monster. This is rather irrelevant except the fact that the location of his soul room would be the same town where he killed everyone-where he snapped.
